Milan: Part 2 Shopping, Eating, and the World’s Fair

Interesting art

We stopped by Chanel when we visited Milan. They had two Le Boys, but neither interested me. One was with different kinds of stitches and beige (I already had a beige Chanel at this point), so I declined that one. They showed me the thin crumpled chevron in bright orange which was not to my taste at all and I declined it as well. I asked about the WOC and they told be that they did not have any in stock at this point. All through the trip I tried to see if they would get new stock, I had no luck. So Milan was a  bust for me and Chanel. Overall, it is a two floor Chanel and the staff is nice, but do not go out of their way to make it a great experience.

One of the major reasons we chose to go in May was the World’s Fair in Milan. It was a great time, even if it is a bit confusing finding it the first time. One day is not enough to visit the countries of the world. We did not get to see as much innovative new technology as we would have liked, but if we had more days we would have visited the Fair at least one more day. Almost every country was there, even with small displays, except Ukraine. Italy having the biggest pavilion and biggest food choices.

The best place to eat in Milan is Risoelatte, it is a quaint restaurant but the warmth of the family that runs it is wonderful. Their food is fresh, they get their ingredients every day from the market. The menu changes every day, we went to eat there every night that we were in Milan. The food is authentic Italian, one night my husband ordered a second portion of his main course, which was lasagna (it truly was heavenly). Only one in the family speaks English well, but she will translate the menu for you (it is hand written in Italian). I can’t praise this restaurant enough.

During the day we ate in Panini Durini which is a chain in Milan. They have great, fresh paninis, salads, and other food choices. The food tastes good, fresh and you don’t have that overfull feeling at he end. It is usually crowded, but they inexpensive prices and guaranteed good meal is worth the wait time.

Milan also has a Cioccogelateria Venchi, with the best gelato in Italy, so if you spot one, take the opportunity to feast on the mouth-explosive tastes of Venchi gelato.

Ciao, until next post!
